The Spanish Association for Migration Studies and Transcultural Psycotherapy offers a course of formation of Expert in Transcultural Psycotherapy, of 140 hours, sponsored by the Official School of Psychologists of Madrid and by EPNA.
The Expert in Transcultural Psycotherapy is designed for Psychiatrists, Psychologists , Doctors, Intercultural Mediators and other professionals who, by their work with immigrants, require a greater knowledge of the transcultural problematics, as well as more specific strategies of psycho-social intervention.
The program includes six modules, that will comprise the following subjects:
- The Transcultural Psycotherapy before the Crises of Immigration.
- Technical and Contributions to the Transcultural Psycotherapy .
- Diversity and Integration.
- Formation and Evolution of the Transcultural Psycotherapy .

The Course tries to provide to the participants with the basic theoretical-practices with the most effective models with performance in the Transcultural Psycotherapy, as well as to enable them by means of practices in the psycho-social intervention with immigrants. The practical ones will be internal and external (in organizations arranged to such aim), with exhibition of clinical experiences, direct visualization in of sessions, visualization of pre-recorded sessions, exercises of role playing, live interviews and testimonies and exhibition of films.
The first edition of the Expert in Transcultural Psycotherapy will be carried out in Madrid, being inaugurated on 3 March and finalizing the 3 June of 2006.
